Yesterday, it was announced that the over 1 billion dollars winning lottery ticket was sold about 4 miles from my house! As a teacher, I heard dozens and dozens of teenage conversations about what they would do if they had won the money.
I am happy I didn't win. Well, I didn't even buy a lottery ticket so it would have been impossible for me to win. But, I'm glad I didn't win.
Why?
I am content.
Instead of thinking about how to spend millions of dollars, I took my dog out for a run on the path through the woods in my neighborhood.
THAT was peace-filled and quiet and rejuvenating. I am so blessed that I COULD run yesterday and the cool, fall air felt refreshing in my lungs. Gunnar didn't hesitate to scamper down into the creek at the first opportunity enjoying the fresh water on his feet.
When Gunnar darted for the water, instead of calling him out, I decided to just stop and look around. Such beauty all around me that doesn't cost a thing!
